The J.W. Tate Library at Huntington University will soon be renovating the library reading room with the construction of the new Lougheed Teaching and Learning Centre.
Construction is expected to start immediately and as a result, the main J.W. Tate Library entrance in the lower lot and as well as internal access to both the library and the library reading room will be blocked throughout the construction period. The library will be closed during the renovation. Any library materials to be returned can be left in the reception office (Room 101 at Huntington University) during the closure. Requests for library resources can also still be made during this time. A form will be made available in the reception office or from the librarian (Room 128). Requests will be processed within 24hours so long as construction at that time does not make it unsafe for staff to enter the lower portion of the library. Any questions about access to library resources can be addressed to the Head Librarian, Dr. Natasha Gerolami at (705) 673-4126 ext. 216 or at ngerolami@huntingtonu.ca.
As well, entrance to the D lobby and the east doors may be blocked on occasion due to construction, but will remain open for garbage removal. Guests are welcome to park in the lower lot but are asked to park near the island parking away from the construction and construction traffic.
The launch of the renovated space is expected to coincide with the start of the fall 2010 academic year. The new Lougheed Teaching and Learning Centre, which will feature upgrades in information technology and updated resources for research enhances Huntington University’s commitment to student success and scholarship.
