Loan Policies at J.W. Tate Library

The J.W. Tate Library is open for use by the general public. A valid university photo identification card must be
presented for all library transactions. Library cards are obtained from the Desmarais Library at Laurentian University.

Return Procedures

All J.W. Tate material must be returned to the library circulation desk or placed in the book drop outside the library. Material should not be returned to other campus libraries.

Renewals

All items may be renewed up to three times in-person or through the online library system so long as another patron has not requested the item.

Recalls and Holds

Patrons can place a hold on a book currently checked out. The book will be held for three days. All checked out items are subject to recall if requested by another borrower. Patrons will be given one week to return the book after which time they will be charged $2 a day.

Fines

Fines for a regular loan item are $0.50 per day to a maximum of $15.00. Patrons may not sign out items if they have $10 in fines or more.
