The Gerontology department is gearing up for its annual spring workshop. The event will look at senior’s mental health and housing issues and is co-sponsored by The Centre for Research in Gerontology at Huntington University and the Walden Non-Profit Housing Corporation. This one-day workshop will take place at Huntington University’s Social Centre on Friday, April 15th, 2011.
The one-day training workshop will feature speakers from the The Centre for Research in Gerontology, Housing Services, Alzheimer Society, Mental Health Outreach Program, the Elder Abuse Network, Sudbury Regional Police, Community Care Access Centre and the North East Local Health Intergration Network. Presenters will share detailed information and practical experiences about mental health and housing issues amongst seniors. Furthermore, a panel discussion will give participants the opportunity to look at cases from their own experience and will be addressed by the panel of professionals working and researching in the area of mental health, housing and seniors.
